About the Role
Residential Youth Care, Inc. (RYC) has been providing residential behavioral health services to Alaska's youth for more than 25 years. RYC operates based on a philosophy emphasizing a culture of care and the building of therapeutic relationships through the development of positive, supportive, and planned interventions delivered by knowledgeable, empathetic, and skilled staff. Under the direction of the KAP Director, KAP Program Facilitators supervise a daily afterschool program for youth engagement and enrichment. KAP Program Facilitators serves as a first point of contact for program leadership and needs. KAP Program Facilitators work directly with youth to provide a safe, responsible, well-supervised program while acting as a positive adult role model, coach, and mentor.Â
KAP Program Facilitators must have a genuine interest in the growth, development, and provision of a safe, nurturing, and fun environment for the youth. A KAP Program Facilitator has the ability to establish authority through leadership, communication, and most importantly patience, providing youth with the stability and nurturing atmosphere they need to succeed. KAP Program Facilitators are responsible for planning and facilitating activities, workshops, clinics, events and family focused parent/family opportunities that meet RYC’s Afterschool Program requirements.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Major Areas of Responsibility Include:
Lead groups of youth in an instructional setting, maintaining high standards for behavior and safety
Develop and implement age-appropriate activities.
Serve as a positive adult role model for children in the program through appropriate dress, speech, attitude, and courtesy.
Create an engaging environment that fosters a sense of belonging for youth.
Organize special events, family nights, or outreach efforts to youth, families, parents or other stakeholders.
Assist with managing and implementing the programming, monitoring and supervision of youth, including directly leading youth activities.
 Maintain highest degree of confidentiality in staff and member matters.
Coordinate and facilitate program implementation and cooperation with program sites and partner organizations.
Establish, maintain, coordinate, facilitate and organize youth, parents, families and related events or classes
Additional duties related to the afterschool program as assigned

Provide a safe, nurturing, and well-supervised afterschool program
Establish, maintain, coordinate, facilitate and organize youth parents, families and related events or classes
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required.
2-3Â years experience in an educational or youth program preferred
18 years of age or older
Valid Alaska Drivers License and clean driving record
Must possess strong computer skills, have the ability to track data and produce reports
Possess excellent communication skills
Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
Must be able to obtain First Aid/CPR and MANDT certification, facilitated by RYC, following hire

Hourly Pay: $18.00-$20.00/hr
