About the Role
The Human Resources Associate or Manager will effectively manage HR processes, administer RYC employment practices, and oversee compensation practices and benefit programs. The coordinator will adhere to all regulatory agency requirements and accrediting body standards: DHSS, COA, etc.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Maintain accurate and confidential personnel records, employee files, and HR documentation in accordance with agency policies and regulatory requirements.
Maintain employee databases, including qualifications, certifications, licenses, training records, and credentialing requirements.
Support the development, implementation, and administration of HR policies, procedures, and workforce initiatives that align with organizational goals.
Coordinate recruitment and onboarding activities, including job postings, applicant tracking, interview scheduling, orientation, and new employee documentation.
Participate in employee recruitment, engagement, and retention initiatives to support workforce stability and organizational growth.
Schedule, track, and maintain documentation for required employee training, certifications, continuing education, and professional development activities, ensuring compliance with agency, licensing, accreditation, and safety requirements.
Respond to employee and supervisor inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, benefits, and employment practices.
Maintain documentation related to hiring, promotions, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, employee recognition, and terminations.
Serve as Chair of the Stakeholders Committee and represent the committee on the Performance and Quality Improvement (PQI) Committee.
Assist with tracking and maintaining OSHA and safety-related training records and compliance documentation.
Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, leave programs, Workers' Compensation, and employee assistance benefits.
Coordinate employee separations, exit processes, and related documentation.
Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws, licensing requirements, and accreditation standards.
Maintain strict confidentiality and uphold professional ethics in all human resources functions.
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
21 years of age+
Valid Alaska Drivers License and clean driving record
Basic knowledge of office equipment and computers, including word processing and email
Must be able to obtain First Aid/CPR and MANDT certification following hire
Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening
Experience in Human Resources preferred.
This position may be filled at either the Human Resources Associate or Human Resources Manager level based on the selected candidate's experience, qualifications, and demonstrated competencies.
Human Resources Associate
0-2 years of HR, administrative, or related experience.
Coordinates HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, employee records, benefits administration, and training tracking.
Works under the guidance of leadership while developing expertise in HR practices and employment regulations.
Human Resources Manager
3+ years of progressive HR experience.
Performs HR functions independently and serves as a resource to leadership on workforce planning, recruitment, retention, employee relations, and compliance.
Demonstrates advanced judgment, problem-solving, and leadership skills in managing HR operations and organizational initiatives.
The essential duties are the same at both levels; the distinction is based on the degree of experience, independence, and strategic responsibility demonstrated by the successful candidate.
