About the Role
The Education Director leads the development and oversight of educational programming across Resilient Youth and Community’s continuum of care, including the Residential Education Center and Harbor Community Program. This role ensures that youth receiving behavioral health services have access to structured, individualized academic support, credit recovery, GED preparation, and transition planning.
RYC serves adolescents experiencing behavioral health challenges and other risk factors that often disrupt traditional education. The Education Director designs and manages a flexible, trauma-informed educational system that supports youth in rebuilding academic engagement while participating in treatment services.
The Education Director supervises teachers and education support staff and collaborates closely with residential, clinical, and community program leadership to ensure that education is integrated into each youth’s treatment and transition plan.
This position works within behavioral health program environments serving adolescents who may experience emotional regulation challenges, trauma histories, and academic disengagement. The Education Director must be comfortable working within dynamic settings that prioritize safety, support, and youth development.

Key Roles & Responsibilities
Lead and oversee RYC’s education continuum across residential and community-based programs, ensuring alignment with treatment goals.
Develop and implement individualized education plans, including credit recovery, GED preparation, and school reintegration.
Supervise and support education staff, providing coaching and professional development for work in therapeutic settings.
Coordinate with school districts and alternative education providers to manage enrollment, attendance, credit transfer, and academic records.
Establish standards for instruction, tutoring, and progress monitoring; track outcomes such as credit completion and engagement.
Collaborate with residential, clinical, and case management teams to support integrated care and educational planning.
Advocate for youth by guiding academic and vocational pathways, including transitions to school, workforce, or post-secondary options.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Special Education, Counseling, Social Work, or related field
Experience working with adolescents in alternative education, behavioral health, juvenile justice, or youth services
Demonstrated ability to develop and supervise educational programming
Experience working with youth experiencing behavioral, emotional, or academic challenges.
Preferred Qualifications
Teaching certification
Master’s degree in Education, Counseling, or related field
Experience in trauma-informed or therapeutic educational environments
Knowledge of credit recovery and GED programming

Shift: Varies
Annual Pay: $80,000-90,000/year DOE
