Residential Youth Care (RYC) is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Vice President of Development and Partnerships to lead our external relations efforts. The Vice President will play a pivotal role in advancing our mission, expanding our reach, and securing the necessary resources to support our programs and initiatives. This leadership position is ideal for an individual who is passionate about youth mental health, community engagement, and creating lasting positive change. Pay Range: $95,000-$125,000 DOE

Key Roles & Responsibilities:
Community Engagement and Partnerships:
- Build and strengthen relationships with key community stakeholders, including the business community, tourism, government agencies, schools, healthcare providers, and other non-profit organizations.
- Serve as the lead liaison between RYC and its partners to identify new opportunities and negotiate mutually beneficial agreements
- Collaborate with local and state organizations to expand RYC's reach and enhance service delivery.
- Champion RYC's mission and advocate for mental health and wellness within the Ketchikan community.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for strategic partnerships and collaborations to further our impact.
- Establish and maintain Memorandums of Agreement (MOAs) that develop innovative, actionable, and accountable partnerships in the community that align with RYC objectives and interests.
Community Public Relations and Marketing:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy to raise awareness of RYC's programs and accomplishments.
- Create engaging content for various organizational partners, stakeholders, and donors.
- Ensure a consistent and compelling brand presence/message that resonates with donors, partners, and the community.
Donor Relations
- Develop and execute effective donor communications and marketing materials in conjunction with RYC's communications team.
- Create and oversee donor recognition programs
- Craft targeted appeals and programs to drive donations.
Development and Fundraising:
- Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies to secure financial support from individual donors, foundations, corporations, and government grants.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing donors while identifying and engaging potential new supporters.
- Oversee The Great Ketchikan Rain Classic.
- Lead grant identification, grant writing and proposal development efforts and grant reporting/maintenance to secure funding for RYC's programs and initiatives. This position will oversee Grant Writing contractors.
- Create and oversee fundraising campaigns and events, ensuring their successful execution and impact.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and mentor a small team of dedicated professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
- Set clear goals and objectives, provide feedback, and evaluate team performance to drive results.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred.
- Proven track record of successful partnership-building in the non-profit sector, fundraising, or community development.
- Experience with fundraising software and donor databases (preferred)
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong understanding of youth mental health, behavioral health, or related fields (preferred).
- Knowledge of Alaskan communities and stakeholders (preferred).

- Stakeholder Engagement & Strategic Partnerships: Foster a sense of ownership and engagement among partners, donors, and the community, emphasizing their role in supporting RYC's mission. Identify and establish strategic partnerships and collaborations that expand RYC's reach and impact in the community.
- Program Support: Work closely with program leaders to align fundraising efforts with RYC's programmatic needs and priorities. The first year will focus on an innovative and transformative community project called SeaLevel, a highly partnership-based community youth center.
- Advocacy and Awareness: Serve as an advocate for mental health and wellness, reducing stigma in the community through effective communication and engagement efforts.
- Effective Public Relations: Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy for fundraising, partnership engagement, and donor development. This role will be visible and publicly represent RYC in the community.
- Diversify Funding Sources: Develop and implement a strategy to diversify RYC's funding sources by securing support from individual donors, foundations, corporations, and government grants. This will include overseeing the Rain Classic, a charitable game for locals and visiting tourists to support youth mental health and compete for prize winnings.
- Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development of RYC's strategic plan, ensuring that fundraising and partnership goals align with the organization's long-term vision.
- Measurement and Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the impact of development and partnership initiatives, providing regular reports to leadership and the board of directors.
- Leadership: Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to inspire and motivate stakeholders, teams, and partners.
- Organization: Highly organized, with excellent project management skills.
- Collaborative: The ideal candidate should excel in building and maintaining relationships with various stakeholders, working closely with team members, partners, and the community to achieve shared goals.
