Residential Youth Care (RYC) is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Vice President of Financial Operations to lead the financial aspects of the organization. This role is instrumental in ensuring effective financial management, accountability, and resource allocation, further supporting RYC's mission and long-term sustainability. The Vice President of Finance is responsible for building and ensuring sound internal financial operational and reporting processes and resource allocation using an entrepreneurial and growth mindset. The Vice President of Financial Operations at RYC will play a pivotal role in overseeing financial operations, ensuring accountability, and facilitating responsible resource allocation to support the organization's mission of transforming lives through holistic care and community collaboration. This is a newly created position to strategically set the organization up for success long-term, through adding organizational capacity that supports continued growth.
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
Supervises: Patient Billing Lead/Revenue Cycle Lead (Contracted Role), Accounting Administrator, AP Specialist, Grants & Special Projects, and Administrative Support.

Hours Per Week: 40
Pay Range: $110,000- $155,000 + DOE

Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- Financial Management: Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, financial reporting, and cash flow management, to ensure financial stability and sustainability. This position will lead strategic use of systems, and intentional building capacity of financial management functions in the organization.
- Accounting and Reporting: Manage the accounting functions (payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, procurement), ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and effective internal controls. Develop internal reporting processes that add value in accurate reporting that aid in strategic business decisions. Through intentional efforts, build robustness and reliability of reporting systems.
- Resource Management: Strategically manage resources management, finding ways to effectively maximize resources at a strategic level, without focusing too myopically on inconsequential things (e.g. don’t cut our coffee budget). Vision and guide strategic use of resources; not from a scarcity mindset, but from the perspective of investing in and growing the organization. We do not align with the non-profit starvation cycle mindset, but are an organization that is entrepreneurial, growth-focused, and concentrated on doing what is right for clients, employees, and the community.
- Revenue Cycle Management: Supervise patient/client revenue cycle processes, including billing, collections, and accounts receivable, to optimize cash flow and revenue generation.
- Grants Management: Administer grant funding, from application to reporting, ensuring compliance with grant requirements and accurate financial tracking.
- Budget Development: Lead the development of the annual budget and collaborate with program leaders to align financial planning with organizational goals and priorities.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis and forecasting, identifying trends and making recommendations to support informed decision-making by the leadership team and the board of directors.
- Audit and Compliance: Coordinate annual financial audits, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and accounting standards.
- Team Leadership and Development: Lead and mentor a small team of dedicated professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment. Set clear goals and objectives, provide feedback, and evaluate team performance to drive results.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or a related field required; advanced degree preferred.
- Five years of experience in for-profit or non-profit financial management required, including strategic financial management.
- Relevant industry credential, such as CPA or CMA preferred.
