Scheduling Specialist

About the Role

The Residential Youth Care (RYC) Scheduling Specialist plays a key role in supporting adolescents and their families within RYC's treatment programs and services. This position is responsible for managing scheduling, maintaining documentation, and facilitating care coordination and communication. As an essential member of the treatment team, the Scheduling Specialist contributes to RYC's mission to advocate for and foster the safety and well-being of youth at risk and their families so they may lead productive lives.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Key Characteristics include:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Exceptional organizational skills, ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment

  • Ability to work well as a team and independently, as job duties require

  • Ability to implement coping strategies and conflict resolution skills in potentially volatile situations


Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Speak with customers over the phone in order to schedule, remind, and follow up on appointments

  2. Email reminders to clients/families or partners when appropriate

  3. Coordinate with outside agencies, parents/ guardians and facilities regarding intake process

  4. Add, cancel, or make changes to appointments in the organization and schedule

  5. Cross-train to be able to perform patient intake, including the completion and filing of all necessary records

  6. Resolve appointment conflicts for staff and customers or clients

  7.  Maintenance of internal and external databases through regular data entry and updating

  8. Attend and participate in required agency meetings, effectively communicating relevant information

  9. Abide by federal and state regulations, and adhere strictly to agency policy and procedures to meet or exceed licensing, auditing, and accreditation standards

  10. Maintain strict confidentiality and uphold professional ethics in all practices and procedures

  11. Other job duties to be assigned

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 21+ years of age

  • Valid Alaska Drivers License and clean driving record

  • Basic knowledge of office equipment and computers, including word processing and email

  • Must be able to obtain First Aid/CPR and MANDT certification following hire

  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening

  • Experience in Behavioral Health, Social Services, or working with Youth (preferred)

Job Type: Full Time, Non-Exempt

Hours Per Week: 40

$20.00-25.00/hr DOE
